Business Tax License

A business tax license is required to operate a vacation rental property in the Florida Keys.The Monroe Tax Collector website has full details on how you can register for a business tax license.

Special Vacation Rental Program

It is important to know whether or not your property qualifies to operate as a vacation rental in Key West & Key Largo. The Monroe County Special Vacation Rental Guidelines classifies a dwelling unit that is rented, leased, or assigned for tenancies of less than 28 days as a vacation rental or short term rental.   • $490 initial fee
  • $100 renewal fee
