The city of Calgary has approved changes that require home owners and investors obtain a business license to become a short-term rental host. In Calgary, a short-term rental is defined as any house or part of a house that is rented for up to 30 days at a time. Any accomodations over 30 nights are not considered short-term rentals and are exempt from any regulations of licensing by the short-term rental office.
