Myrtle Beach Short-Term Rental Guidelines

Myrtle Beach Short-Term Rental Zoning

The city of Myrtle Beach allows for short-term rentals as long as the property your neighborhood is located in is zoned for short-term rentals. Currently you do not need a short-term rental license as long as your property does not reside in an "R" (Residential) district as per the zoning map guidelines.

Business Tax License

Business tax linceses are required if you will be renting out your property. To apply for a business tax license, navigate to the City of Myrtle Beach Business Tax License application page .

What is Considered a Short-Term Rental?

The City of Myrtle Beach considers a short-term rental as any rental that is 90 days or less. If you are renting out your property on stays longer than 3 months, you are not considered a short-term rental and are able to rent your property even if you are in the "R" (Residential) zone.
